Mr. Hindiyerli is one of the greatest living Masters of Telkari (filigree) work and has been devoting himself to his craft for the last 55 years in the Southeastern Turkish town of Mardin. He is a registered handscraftsmen with Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and has exhibited in various Arabic countries and the USA. He believes one must process silver delicately and likens it to weaving silk. He says you must be devoted to the craft to do it. While he can make one necklace in a half an hour, another might take days. Most people do not believe his work is handcrafted when he exhibits abroad. This is flattering to him.
