Mr. Muğurtay began working with various masters in the Grand Bazaar and is a Master in “Sadekar” or mounting. He works out of his workshop on Heybeliada, one of the Prince’s Islands off the coast of Istanbul. Focusing on diverse techniques, he is interested in making many different styles of jewelry using various precious and non-precious metals, synthetic and non-synthetic materials. Mr. Muğurtay has also been an educator on jewelry techniques across many different institutions, training the new generations of artisans.
